João Pedro prefers to keep the land that belonged to Belarmino, and decides to move to the farm once and for all to live with Morena, Deocleciano and Zinha. Morena advises João Pedro to forget Mariana. Buba is afraid when José Inocêncio says he senses that she will give him a grandson. José Inocêncio confesses to Mariana his fear that his children will not be competent to take care of the lands they will inherit.
