Gutya manages to know what is hidden in the telegrams. Together with Masha they decide to meet in the park and to walk through the cinema halls to learn where do the criminals gather. But Masha rushes to make peace with Shvedov who is coming to Moscow the next day and stays the night at his place. Gutya goes to the theatres alone. In the morning Masha finds evidence that Shevdov is a traitor. She runs to tell it to Paulina, but she refuses to listen as another dead body is found. Together with Masha they come to the place and see Gutya’s dead body lying on the rocks.
