The World From Above
Germany - Bayreuth to Munich (2x13)
:
This journey crosses part of Bavaria, the largest of Germany's 16 states. Flying over forests and farmlands we find Bayreuth, the home of Wagner's grand operas. We travel to historic Nuremberg, the city that witnessed both the rise and fall of the Nazis. Then it's east along one of the greatest waterways in the world, the Danube. On its banks is Walhalle, Germany's answer to Athens' Parthonon. Close to the Austrian border is the sleepy village of Marktl, birthplace of Pope Benedict the sixteenth. We finally arrive at Munich, in time to join the biggest beer festival in the world, Oktoberfest.
