Whether people act like a hipster from Brooklyn or like a banker from London, through fashion everyone can define their social identity and assign themselves to a group. 150 billion pieces of clothing are produced every year. But the fashion industry is struggling with numerous problems: mass consumption, overproduction, violations of labor regulations and the increased use of chemicals. Fashion has to do one thing above all: get ecological and social problems under control as quickly as possible. More environmentally friendly production methods will become more important in the future. Designers worldwide are working on the fashion of the future. New technologies are producing new tools to produce fabrics for the world to come.
