Two weeks ago, a 7.0 earthquake devastated the country of Haiti. Early estimates suggest that the earthquake killed 200,000 people and left 1.5 million homeless. Victims are still in need of food, water, shelter, medical supplies and attention, clothing, shoes, sleeping bags and tents. Communications and power are down, there are unclaimed bodies being burned in the streets, there are many homeless orphans and the situation is growing more desperate. Relief is starting to come in, but the country is far from stable. The Doctors in Haiti Dr. Phil’s sons, Jay and Jordan, are part of a medical mission in Haiti, with the four physicians from Jay’s show, The Doctors. Jay and Jordan travel with Dr. Travis Stork, Dr. Drew Ordon, Dr. Jim Sears and Dr. Lisa Masterson, along with thousands of pounds of medical supplies, to help the victims of the earthquake. See the work they’ve been doing. A Resilient Father Olden Polynice is a former NBA player who came to America from Haiti when he was just 7 years old. Dr. Phil talks with Olden about his search for relatives and gives him a big surprise. The Littlest Victims Tiara and Jacqueline are moms who say they can’t take their eyes off the news coverage, especially the reports on the orphaned children. They want to do more than just send money; they want to adopt a Haitian orphan. What does it take to rescue a child in need? Haitian Heroes At Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Haitian trauma nurses provide care to victims who have been flown in from Haiti. Many of these nurses have missing family members in the earthquake rubble but bravely continue working without knowing how their loved ones fared. One nurse fears his family was part of a mass grave.
