The history of Melaka, a city in Malaysia, dates back to the 15th century Melaka Sultanate, when it became a thriving maritime trade hub. During this period, Islam spread rapidly due to the influence of Arab trading partners. In the 16th century, the Portuguese sought control of Melaka to dominate its strategic trade routes. The city later came under Dutch rule in the 17th century, followed by British control in the 19th century. Despite these shifts in colonial rulers, Melaka continued to prosper as a significant port town.

Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is a major urban center with a population of 2 million. Malaysia achieved independence from Britain in 1957. Following this, the Malaysian government promoted modern city development by rapidly constructing highways and housing, as well as implementing policies to nurture domestic industries. The country's economic growth continues through industrialization, such as transforming former oil palm plantations into factory sites and establishing hubs for the IT industry.

Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, is the East Coast's second-largest city in the US after NYC. It's the birthplace of the US and was once the capital. It's now a favorite for history buffs.

Located on Terceira Island, about 1000 kilometers off the coast of Portugal, the designated World Heritage site of Angra do Heroismo is a port town which flourished during the Age of Exploration.
