Nigel follows the country's love affair with the humble biscuit, from Cream Crackers to the Custard Cream. Filmed on location, Nigel interviews Stuart Payne, author of the biscuit bible 'A Nice Cup of Tea and a Sit Down' and the historian Ivan Day in this story of the much loved Great British Biscuit.

Nigel, who believes the world is a happier place when there is a cake on the table, explores the British devotion to home made cake, meeting everyone from bakers, artists, scientists and historians to Jenny Eclair and members of the Clandestine Cake Club.
