Temmora introduces her hectic life running a music boot camp for talented children and managing her daughter Miesha's R&B group, Karma; Temmora has a heated exchange with one of the parents and picks a student to open for Karma on Beale Street.

Temmora takes the students on a sobering field trip to the National Civil Rights Museum; the students compete at historic Clayborn Temple for a performance spot at MLK Day; Miesha agrees to go on a date with rapper Silentó.

Temmora teaches the students all about stage presence; a student is selected for a showcase performing on a "360 Degree" stage at the Fitz Casino during a prize boxing match; Momma Jessie informs Temmora that Miesha went on a date.
