Jérôme, a Parisian restaurateur on a visit to Marseille, is found stabbed to death in a cove. To uncover the reasons behind the murder, Mac Orlan hones in on those close to the victim. First, Hassan, his best friend, who is also a restaurateur. Jérôme had gone to stay with Hassan to have a look round the Marseille area with a view to moving there. Then there is Cyrielle, the victim's sister, a young woman who is addicted to drugs, a mythomaniac and, above all, extremely possessive of her brother. And finally, Patrick, a friend who became homeless...
