Carlos makes a tempting offer to the Mountain Man. The mayor of Álamo sees in the Mountain Man an opportunity to turn his hoax about the wells into reality. He offers him the chance to be the face of the wells and their history, lending credibility to the testimonies, which the man accepts. Meanwhile, Carlos sees Paz about to get into Lautaro's van and, in a quick escape, claims she was mistaken. Lautaro hears all this through the window of the house and is deeply disappointed in Paz, confronting her right there.
