1982 was going to be the nerdiest year of film anyone had ever seen as pulp genre films took over the mainstream in a major way. Most of the world would get their first look at computer generated special effects in ‘Tron’. A weirdly fleshy alien would capture hearts around the entire world. A different fleshy alien would try to take over the world. A Blade would run, and a Conan would barbarian.
