Fedra demands the opening of a formal investigation to prove that Fausta is truly responsible for Gaspar's death. Fausta bribes the medical examiners to clear her name and shift all suspicion to Gerardo, pointing to him as the real murderer of Gaspar. After hearing Gerardo's version of Gaspar's death, Isabella begs him to join Fedra's accusations, convinced that only together can they expose Fausta. Gaspar takes revenge on Fausta by ensuring that, after his death, Eugenio receives a letter confessing the secret that cost him his life.
