Tired of the abuse, Isabella bursts into Fedra's room and confronts her firmly: Valentina is not to blame for the atrocities committed by Fausta, much fewer does she deserve to be treated as her property. Bárbara exploits Fausta's role in her mother's death and, despite knowing her innocence, threatens to denounce her for her mother's death unless she hands over full control of the company. Fedra bursts into the De la Vega mansion with a torn face, accusing Isabella of attacking her during an alleged psychotic episode to regain the family's support. Against all odds and despite the resources and evidence against her, Fedra manages to exact her revenge: she regains full custody of Valentina, leaving Isabella devastated and powerless to stop her.
