A sawmill is running at full capacity. Logs weighing more than 1000 kilos are lifted by hoists, tipped on the sawing line, squared and finally cut into boards. In front of the control screens, a man ensures that the operation runs smoothly. He suddenly seems to notice an anomaly and asks Elodie to go and have a look at the rendering. The young worker tumbles down the iron staircase above the parade of planks that are threaded in a continuous stream into the gears of the sorter. Suddenly, a step of the ladder gives way under his feet. A siren howls in the sawmill yard. The workers are running everywhere. One word is circulating: There has been an accident! A body bag closes over Elodie's bloodied face. In the buildings, Alex climbs the metal ladder above the machines to join Tony...
