Eugenio reveals to Isabella that he has admired her since their wedding, when she showed her courage, and, unable to help himself, offers her a job in the hope of seeing her more often. Tired of Amelia's interrogation, Fedra confesses that she had a daughter, but that she is not interested in seeing her again, as she does not love her. Fedra pressures Eugenio to get a position at the company, thus taking the first step in her plan to appropriate the family fortune. Fedra is furious when she sees Valentina in her own home and threatens to make her life hell if she dares to say that she is her daughter.
