José Luis finds out from Luis Emilio that Manuel has gold. This worries José Luis, who mentions that Manuel must disappear somehow, so he goes to his home and offers him a partnership in which they both end up "winning" with mutual help. On the other hand, Lucrecia puts her plan into motion to deceive Ignacio and make Mercedes suffer. Violeta is still traumatized by what happened with José Luis, something that Leontina cannot understand and begins to treat her badly, at which point María intervenes. Likewise, Lucrecia sets conditions for Mercedes to pretend to be a "good wife."
