Uncut Gems is a chaotic and anxiety-inducing wild ride. In order to construct this kind of chaos without confusing the viewer or turning things into a jumbled mess, the Safdie brothers needed mastery of cinematography, sound design, and editing. In this video, I dive into each of these categories to look at how the Safdies are carefully crafting the chaos of Uncut Gems.
