24 December 1904. While Inspector Antoine Jouin is trying to identify a corpse found in the Bois de Boulogne, the vice police round up prostitutes from the streets of Paris, including a young woman, Rosalie Dantremont, causing the death of her newborn child left alone in its cradle.
