In Saint-Affrique, a large commune in the Aveyron region, Pierre Loiseau, a wealthy livestock farmer, is murdered. Numerous leads are suspected, including his girlfriend whom he was about to leave, his jealous ex-wife, a rugby player, and a farmer who had good reason to resent him.
