Antiques Road Trip
Episode 3 (20x3)
:
With a mere £70 between them, the battle is on! Catherine Southon and James Braxton are back on the road in their fabulous 1969 Rover, county hopping from Leicestershire to South Yorkshire.
Both borrow their rival’s tactics this time around. Catherine buys whatever takes her fancy – and that includes a very Braxton-style purchase in the shape of a table. Meanwhile, James goes arts and crafts crazy and, in a very Catherine-like move, spends just a fraction of his budget.
Away from the antiques hunt, Catherine learns all about the bravery and glory of the Staffordshire Regiment, their very proud doggy mascot and the story of the most decorated soldier of the Great War – a man who never fired a gun.
James discovers the local delicacy little known outside the region but key to sustaining the pottery workers in the 18th and 19th centuries. And he gets baking with a local baker who still makes traditional Staffordshire oatcakes today.
But when the gavel comes down in Elsecar, South Yorkshire there can be only one winner.
