Akuji and the rest of the Youth Service Group begin the next for their goal of conquering Osaka by taking control of the Nogi residence in the Ashiya region. They capture their prized possession, the Yamato Nadeshiko, Nogi Kikuko, and Akuji turns her over to the brothel managers. The Youth Service Group's next goal is to take over the Nako-kyo, a religious group that maintains a huge part in Osaka and is famous for having the Nako-Goddess, Yume being worshiped, as her blood has the power to cure sickness, she is praised by the people who live there. Yume tells the others in the Nako-kyo to not address her so formally, including her most faithful servant, and the vice leader of the Nako-kyo, Komiya Youko, but they can't help it due to the large amount of respect that they have for her, shortly after it is revealed that Yume is actually a hermaphrodite, but it is unknown to the Nako-kyo why Yume was born like this. The other vice leader, Tsukigase Nene requests a cease fire for the Youth Service Group, and they send in one of their subordinates, who is a shinobi, Toki Haruka.
