Jack tells Vera he's taking the night off to join a snooker competition at the Legion and she lets him borrow the Nova. Jack then takes Tina to an expensive restaurant where she gets him to buy a bottle of champagne. Jack tries to seduce Tina in the car but she refuses to let him touch her, she thanks him for the meal and leaves. Vera discovers from Curly that Jack wasn't at the Legion, just as the Jack discovers that the Nova has run out of petrol and he doesn't have any money left to fill it up. Rafferty tells Deirdre he's suspected of being the mole. He tells her he's not carrying the can for Ken. She realises he might have to resign. Deirdre then refuses to go holiday with Ken when he refuses to clear Rafferty's name.
