On their escape to Hiraizumi, Yoshitsune and his retainers arrive in Kaga, the current southern part of Ishikawa Prefecture. At a woodcutter’s house where they spend a night, Yoshitsune happens to meet Tomoe, who is now the wife of the woodcutter.
