A family of immigrants from the Caucasus comes to live in the Essig family's block in the shadow of an operation to confiscate televisions by the Broadcasting Authority that is taking place in the settlement. Prosper, for his part, is busy trying to take over the position of cantor in a synagogue and bribes the rabbi with Lilian's king cookies.
