Don Matteo and Natalina find the body of a man. The investigation will lead to Sabrina, an inmate girl who used work permits at the victim's factory. Don Matteo takes the girl's difficult story to heart and decides not to leave her alone. Meanwhile, in Spoleto it is a day of new arrivals: in the barracks it is the first day of Gualtiero Ferri, the new PM, while Lia's mother arrives at the Cecchini house. The Marshal and the captain do everything they can to ingratiate themselves with the rather severe woman. But Tommasi will have to deal with a terrible revelation ...
