Ultimate Survival: Everest

The team arrives at Base Camp and prepares to climb to the summit. But, one of the climbers gets stuck, suspended over a crevasse the depth of a 10-storey building.

On the way up to the next camp, a snowstorm hits and Team Discovery is caught on the Lhotse Face, an icy 70-degree slope where one wrong move can be deadly.

After a month on Everest, the team is ready to try for the summit. But, when a mystery virus befalls one of the climbers and bad weather sets in, the window of opportunity is shortened

Waiting out the weather results in a human traffic jam when 50 climbers make a break for the summit at the same time. Only two of the four Team Discovery members are among them.

Fifty climbers approach the summit. The wind is picking up when they discover there are no safety lines in place above 8,000 metres and their oxygen supply is running dangerously low. One climber goes missing for 26 hours.

En route to the summit, Team Discovery climbers arrive at their final camp, only to discover their oxygen supply is missing. The team initiates a high-altitude rescue mission more than 8,000 metres above sea level, and the remaining two climbers heaad for the summit - but only one returns to Base Camp.
