Souichiro Nagi and his best friend Bob Makihara (a.k.a. the Knuckle Bombs) arrive to their new school of Todo Academy with plan of ruling the school by defeating anybody that get in their way just as they have done at their previous schools. They soon learn that Todo Academy is no ordinary school, and are defeated when Maya Natsume flings Souichiro out of the window. Souichiro crashes through the roof of the Juken Club, and sees Aya Natsume naked. She then kisses him and proposes, adhering to the ancient Natsume tradition that Natsume women would marry the first man they "revealed themselves" to.

Souichiro tries to deal with his loss in a fight to Takayanagi and the fact that there are stronger fighters at Todo than himself. The Knuckle Bombs antics catch the attention of Tsutomu Ryuuzaki of the Executive Council that keep the order in the school and punish the students that do not follow the rules.

The Knuckle Bombs race to protect Bob's girlfriend Chiaki Kounoike from Tsutomu at the laundromat. Aya, whose Dragon's Eye has awakened, is able to find them, but not in time. After being defeated, Souichiro and Bob join the Juken Club and Maya Natsume defeats Tsutomu for her new members.

The Juken Club trains during Golden week break, Souichiro discovers a new fighting technique, and Aya becomes worried that her sister is getting too close to Souichiro, whom she still plans on marrying, despite his constant rebuffs. Meanwhile, Tsutomu gets punished for not fulfilling Executive Council orders by another enforcer named Kōji Sagara.

The Juken Club goes bowling and gets ambushed by the Executive Council. The Club is split up and paired against specific opponents, and the situation is made worse when Aya, using her Dragon's Eye, "sees" Maya and Souichiro kissing during training.

The fight between the Juken Club and the Executive Council continues and Mitsuomi Takayanagi, the president of the Executive Council, arrives on the scene.

Souichiro finishes his fight with the enforcer Sagara while Masataka Takayanagi fights his brother Mitsuomi.

Mitsuomi confronts Bob and Masataka and the enforcer Shirō Tagami nearly dies when Aya Natsume's Dragon's Eye activate.

The battle between Souichiro and Mitsuomi comes to a conclusion, and it is revealed that Mitsuomi and Maya used to be a couple, and that he still desires to renew their relationship. Chiaki, witnessing their exchange, accuses Maya of using them just to get revenge on an old boyfriend, and demands to know what is going on. Maya, reluctantly, agrees.

Maya reveals the past between her, Mitsuomi, her brother Shin, and his girlfriend Mana Kuzunoha, beginning a six-episode flashback arc that takes place two years before Souichiro's entrance into Todo Academy.

Mana Kuzunoha reveals Shin Natsume's insanity to Mitsuomi.

Shin is called to a meeting with Dōgen Takayanagi. Bunshichi Tawara has problems trying to find his friend Shin.

Mitsuomi struggles with a paralyzing fear. Bunshichi finds Shin at the meeting and they begin to fight.

The fight between Bunshichi and Shin reaches its conclusion.

Mitsuomi overcomes his paralyzing fear. Later, Mitsuomi and Shin race on motorcycles as a farewell party to Team KATANA.

Maya finishes her story and the Juken Club returns to school. Souichiro and Bob fight Kanakita Ryuusen, while Maya meets with the school principal. She volunteers to expel herself in order to protect her Club, and the principal concedes.

After Maya's expulsion from school, Souichiro and Bob attack the Enforcer's club office in an attempt to get themselves kicked out so she doesn't have to make the sacrifice. Aya's Dragon Eye allows her to watch the fight, and she witnesses Souichiro confess his love for Maya, which breaks her heart.

Souichiro and Bob try to find out more of the past from Bunshichi, while Maya and Mitsuomi team up to search for Aya, who has the cursed sword Reiki. While Aya is at Masataka house she collapses with fever and starts having a dream about her brother. After the dream she starts asking questions about her brothers death.

Bunshichi reveals more of the past, starting with how Shin Natsume formed the Juken Club and how Mitsuomi persuaded Maya to join the club.

The preliminary matches of the tournament get underway, but Master Dougen pays Shin a visit asking him a favor. It is revealed that Master Dougen's goal is to force Mitsuomi into the perfect martial artist, and seeks to raise Shin up as an "absolute evil" for Mitsuomi to conquer.

Fu Cheun / Fu Chein takes Maya captive in order to force Shin to comply with Master Dougen's demands. Upon seeing her unconscious and partially nude, Shin's Dragon Eye activates and he fights Fu Cheun, tearing off both his hands. Kuzunoha runs off to find Mitsuomi to help stop the berserk Shin.

The Finals to the Tournament come and the Jyuken Club must fight the Anti-Jyuken Special Team made from 5 of the 10 strongest fighters in Toudou. Mitsuomi shows up to help Tawara and Kuzuo, but instead takes out everyone by himself in about 3 minutes. He then learns from Kuzunoha what the consequences of his fight with Shin really are.

2 months have passed and Mitsuomi fights Shin for the presidency of the Enforcers. Later Shin realizes what he has done and decides to take his own life with one of Mana's acupuncture needles.

Maya and Mitsuomi try to retrieve Chokutou Reki from Aya but are stopped when Souichiro fights Mitsuomi.
