The World Commander, Richard Julian, is returning to Chichen-Itza, the base of the World Federation, in his plane, the Falcon One. Suddenly, one of the engines explodes. The pilot decides to take the Commander away in the evacuation glider. After sending out an SOS, Richard Julian lands in the Forbidden Zone where he is rescued by a mysterious stranger just as Thanors, Thanatos' henchmen, are about to shoot him down. Richard Julian does not know the name of his savior, but this one having recognized the Commander calls the help and disappears. Back in Chichen-Itza, the Commander Richard Julian orders Jack Mitchell, the Rear-Admiral in charge of his security, to find the unknown person who saved his life in the Forbidden Zone... It is a certain Chris Colorado...

After saving the Commander's daughter from being kidnapped by Thanors, Chris Colorado, wearing a holographic suit that makes him unrecognizable, manages to enter the protected city of Chichen-Itza. He breaks into the Defense Pentagon and searches for the files of the passengers who were aboard the Falcon One during the attack... Two files seem particularly suspicious, that of Rebecca Woong, with a strange past, and that of the plane's co-pilot, Burt Jourdan...

Chichen-Itza no longer responds! Thanatos and his Thanors have installed a gigantic magnetic apode jamming all communications from the Protected City to the outside world. Chris Colorado, after an aerial battle with Thanatos' henchmen, manages to get into Chichen-Itza. He meets the commander Richard Julian who asks him to go to the Forbidden Zone and destroy the Thanatos antenna...

A mysterious Thanor leaves the Forbidden Zone after stealing a Scorpios 6, one of Thanatos' attack helicopters. He travels to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and lays a bracelet that belonged to Chris Colorado as a child in front of him... Chris wakes up and tries with Chippowok to catch this Thanor who manages to escape. Sam Colorado refuses to answer his grandson, so Chris decides to go to Athabascan, the chief of the nearby Hopi village, and ask him the truth about his childhood... The magical Kachinas will answer him in front of the fire...

Somewhere in the North Pole, in the middle of a snowstorm, Thanors, rappelling from their Scorpios 6, storm a World Federation military base... Meanwhile, the commander Richard Julian leaves the entrenched camp of Chichen-Itza to embark on the Liberty, a submarine, which must lead him to this famous polar base.... Fortunately, a mechanic, who is not without reminding the silhouette of Chris Colorado, watches in the holds...

Alert at Chichen-Itza, all the Liberty Centurions on leave are urgently recalled by Rear Admiral Jack Mitchell. Jennifer Julian, the Commander's daughter, has disappeared and cannot be found. No one has left Chichen-Itza except Chris Colorado and Chippowok aboard a Scorpios 6 (stolen from the Thanors) in an attempt to rescue Senator Herb Forsythe III, who has been kidnapped by Thanatos in the Forbidden Zone... Is Jennifer on board with Chris?

The Rear Admiral Jack Mitchell does not disarm against Chris Colorado. Convinced that he knows the secrets of the World Federation Commander, and taking advantage of the latter's absence in Chichen-Itza, he has Chris arrested. Locked up in the Glass Cube of the Super-Truth Conductor and interrogated by its inventor, Dr. Storm, Chris Colorado surprises his torturers by his resistance. Jack Mitchell, ruthless, wants to know all the shadows of his past... Only a miracle can save Chris Colorado from the Z-B-13 contained in the Glass Cube.

Commander Richard Julian secretly pays a very strange visit to old Sam Colorado in the Grand Canyon. Chris reaches the Commander in crypto-transmission to ask him for a few days of rest at the Grand Canyon. To keep his trusted man away, Richard Julian immediately gives him a mission of "all rest": Go and find Georges-Albert Durand-Vermeil, the governor of Pallonia, one of the countries of the Center. For Chris Colorado, the return trip, which was supposed to be a walk, turns into a nightmare, while the old Sam, decidedly intimate with Richard Julian, informs him of his mysterious research...

Jack Mitchell, who has entered Chichen-Itza despite his ban, saves Commander Richard Julian from a Thanor attack. Richard Julian announces in Luno-Vision that his term as head of the World Federation is over and that new elections will be held. However, the news comes as a shock: the senior senator, Herb Forsythe III, will run against Commander Richard Julian... Who will win?

The victory of Thanatos seems complete. He enters Chichen-Itza in triumph, deserted of its inhabitants. However, at the Castillo, Thanatos discovers with rage that his Cyber-Android having won the elections against Richard Julian has disappeared. Thanatos was counting on this robot that looks like Herb Forsythe III to rule the world for him. Meanwhile, Chris Colorado, who has freed himself, destroys the dangerous Cyber-Android with Chippowok. He leaves to try to save the Commander, Jennifer and Rebecca Woong, who are about to be shot by a squad of Thanors in the moat of a Mayan tower.

Chris Colorado learns that Jack Mitchell, still imprisoned with Doctor Storm in Chichen-Itza, is going to be transferred to Palenque, the other base of the World Federation. It is in fact a trap set by Thanatos who suspects that Richard Julian's men will do everything to recover the Rear Admiral. Chris and Chippowok fall into an ambush and get out of it in-extremis by saving the "bait", Mitchell and Storm. In the clandestine, the life of the members of the World Federation is reorganized...

Chris Colorado proposes to attack Chichen-Itza in force, which Thanatos holds. Richard Julian asks him to go first to the Forbidden Zone (deserted by the Thanors) and to bring Sam an armored can of Black Torrent. Everything goes wrong, the Thanors have set a trap and Colorado, separated from Chippowok, escapes into the rift leading to the Mosaics. The Mosaics, with their pale faces in their underground world, are very threatening. A "Hermit", his face hidden by a hood, leads Chris Colorado to his lair and subjects him to three tests. In the light of a torch, Chris Colorado is shocked to recognize his father William Erwin Krantz...

Chris Colorado, exhausted, returns without Chippowok from the Forbidden Zone to the Resistance. He tells a distraught Hopi chief Athabascan that his son, Chippowok, has died. The Thanors make a surprise attack on Richard Julian and his followers. Chris Colorado escapes with the famous Red Briefcase containing all the secrets of the World Federation and takes it to Thanatos... We discover that it was in fact Vladimir... What happened to the real Chris Colorado and Chippowok?

Chris Colorado, still a prisoner of the Mosaics, is joined by Chippowok. The two friends are caught in the middle of a terrible fight between the Ghouls and the Stryges. Saved in-extremis by the hermit Marubo, in whom Chris recognized his father, the two friends discover the heart of the evil meteorite. While bending down to collect the Black Torrent, Chris Colorado falls into the viscous liquid. His body immune to the violent poison, Chris resists, as a Mosaic disappears. Unfortunately, Colorado accidentally swallows some Black Torrent. Suddenly as mad as Thanatos, Chris Colorado attacks Chippowok, and the hermit Marubo. They are forced to tie him up. Moreover, Chippowok, very suspicious, doubts that Marubo is really William-Erwin Krantz, Chris' father.

After a terrible fight with Chris Colorado, Chippowok returns to the resistance camp with Burt Jourdan, Herb Forsythe III, Mosaic-Marubo and Chris Colorado, this time in chains. The latter has been drinking the Black Torrent and is under the influence of this diabolical poison. Ex-commander Richard Julian immediately recognizes in Mosaï-Marubo his own brother Wenceslas-Oleg Krantz. After a touching reunion, Richard Julian, implacable, puts his brother under arrest and orders him to reveal the whole truth about his troubled past...

Chris Colorado, still under the influence of the Black Torrent, which has clouded his brain, stole a Resistance plane with Rebecca Woong as hostage. After a dogfight with his friends Chippowok and Jack Mitchell, Chris reaches Chichen-Itza where he manages to enter the Castillo occupied by Thanatos and his Thanors. While old Sam is looking for a serum, to cure Chris Colorado of the Black Torrent, this one is unleashed, attacks Thanatos, in front of Lauren and Vladimir. A dramatic fight makes them confront each other. Chris Colorado has the upper hand and drives out Thanatos wounded, while Lauren, horrified, flees forever from Chichen-Itza. Chris Colorado, victorious, becomes the new Thanatos...

Lauren Krantz, who escaped from Chichen-Itza, manages to join the camp of the partisans in the forest. Richard Julian, very disturbed to find her, asks Dr. Storm to make her talk, but Jennifer, who arrived in the meantime, formally opposes it. In Chichen-Itza, Thanatos orders his son, Vladimir, to prevent the men of the World Federation from finding the Great Library of the ancient Glorious City... Chris Colorado, still under the influence of the Black Torrent, sets out with Vladimir to attack Mitchell and his men in search of this famous library...

After confronting the secret troops of WARP (the secret service of the World Federation) who wanted to liberate Chichen-Itza first and possibly stage a coup headed by Herb Forsythe III, Chris Colorado, Jack Mitchell and Chippowok break into the Protected City through an underground river. After creating diversions, Colorado gives the signal: the Heli-Troopers attack the Thanors who still hold the city... The great battle for freedom has begun.

"When the Heli-Troopers attacked the palace of Thanatos in the Lake City..." Lauren Krantz, finally found by her son Chris Colorado, reveals all she knows about the past of Wenceslas-Oleg and William-Erwin Krantz. The two twin brothers, now mortal enemies, the first of whom is Thanatos and the second his prisoner, clash and William-Erwin, fighting with Wenceslas in the Black Torrent, drinks poison. Having become the new Thanatos, William-Erwin Krantz chases his twin to the territory of the Mosaics forever. Chris Colorado, after these revelations, must leave his mother to go and free the Mosaics from their underground prison. He discovers with amazement that Sheol, the meteorite, has disappeared and the Black Torrent too...

While Chris takes a few days off, Sam Colorado, assisted by Dr. Storm, takes a sample of the birthmark he has on his shoulder (as do all members of the Krantz family). His discovery is phenomenal, this spot is not natural and it is a molecular suite implanted from scratch that has been genetically transmitted to other members of the Krantz family. Unfortunately, Sam falls into a REM sleep. Chris Colorado has only a few hours to save his grandfather...

A new meteorite is heading straight for Palenque where Jennifer has gone with the help of old Sam. On the Commander's orders, Chris Colorado leaves for this secret Federation base. In Palenque, there has been an attack. All the Centurions are lying on the ground and Chris Colorado, after many searches, finally finds Jennifer, tied to a monstrous machine, built more than two thousand years ago by the Krulls, ancestors of the Maya... Chris Colorado discovers that this machine has the power to attract meteorites filled with Black Torrent. He manages to divert it from its path. Jennifer declares that it is Herb Forsythe III who attacked Palenque and tied her up before fleeing...

Lauren dreams that her husband William-Erwin Krantz is calling her from afar for help. With Jennifer and Rebecca Woong, she sets out into the desert to find the man she still loves, despite the hurt he has caused her. Chris Colorado and Chippowok set out in pursuit of the three women, who have no idea of the deadly dangers hidden in the shifting sands of the Zatagua Desert. But Chris Colorado is not at the end of his troubles: He discovers a camp of Mosaics directed by the strange Herb Forsythe III. William-Erwin Krantz, completely insane, and the three women, are his prisoners, tied to the base of Sheol, the meteorite adored by the Mosaics and mysteriously disappeared...

Chris Colorado and Chippowok board the Liberty, one of the World Federation's submarines, and set off in pursuit of Herb Forsythe III. This manhunt will take Chris Colorado to the far north where he will discover the secret laboratory of the Official Department of Scientific Research and information on the famous Minotaur file...

Alert in Chichen-Itza. Herb Forsythe, thanks to his Herculean strength, has escaped from the high surveillance area where he was locked up next to the cells of Wenceslas-Oleg and William-Erwin Krantz (the two ex-Thanatos whose official trial is being prepared). Colorado starts hunting and finds Forsythe just as he is about to leave Chichen-Itza. On Richard Julian's order, Herb Forsythe is tied up and taken by force to Doctor Storm. The latter has developed a "Thought Sensor", an extraordinary machine allowing an individual to read the thoughts of another individual. The men of the World Federation will finally know the truth about the Minotaur File...

Chris Colorado is given the mission to fly Herb Forsythe III, Wenceslas-Oleg and William-Erwin Krantz to Eastern Canada for trial. After having put the guards and Chris Colorado to sleep, a masked individual delivers Forsythe, before escaping with him by parachute. Mad with rage at having been fooled, Chris Colorado launches out in pursuit of the malefactor and his accomplice. Joined by Chippowok, Chris Colorado finds Forsythe's trail to the lagoon and enters the abandoned lake palace. With despair, he finds Lauren, his own mother, who helped the prisoner to escape. She reveals to him that she is only a clone, made by Forsythe...

During a speech that he gives in lunovision where he is going to announce that he is candidate to his own succession, Richard Julian is victim of an attack. The terrorist is a look-alike of Herb Forsythe when he was a twenty year old man. In prison, the real Herb Forsythe claims, "I made this clone in my own image, he obeyed my order in shooting Richard-Julian Krantz, and there will be more to shoot all the Krantzes!" Richard Julian seriously injured decides to withdraw from the election race. He offers Chris Colorado to be his candidate...
