Born Philippe Gustave Mathevet, Philippe Clay was a French mime artist, singer and actor. His tall and slim silhouette was remembered for his role in Bell, Book and Candle (1958), where played the French Singer at the Zodiac Club. Clay was also known for such classics as Notre Dame de Paris (1956), Les brigades du Tigre (1974), French Cancan (1955) and The Barber of Seville (1982)
