The Great Comic Relief Bake Off 2015 (1) (4x1)
: 11, 2015
The Great British Bake Off returns with four special Comic Relief programmes. In each episode four different celebrities battle it out in the Bake Off tent in an attempt to raise money for Comic Relief - and to win the coveted Comic Relief Star Baker apron.
Sue Perkins presents the opening episode. The first brave celebrities to enter the Bake Off Tent are four of the most iconic figures in British entertainment - Joanna Lumley, Jennifer Saunders, Lulu, and Dame Edna Everage - who has come out retirement especially for Comic Relief. They must take on three challenges set by Mary and Paul. The first challenge they are set is enormous for these baking novices: they have to make a giant cookie or biscuit. The technical challenge is one of Mary's classic recipes, 12 mini fruit tarts, and there's a demanding showstopper challenge - a tiered chocolate cake inspired by a memorable occasion. Who makes a mess of their measurements, and who proves to be a rising star and be crowned Comic Relief star baker?
They are baking for Comic Relief to inspire you at home to do the same, and raise money for people who need your help. Comedian Ed Byrne visits a Comic Relief-funded project in Uganda to meet street children who are being helped by your donations.
