: 14, 2010
The story follows an emperor of China who learns about a beautiful nightingale with a song so enchanting that it brings joy to all who hear it. The emperor commands his courtiers to find and bring the nightingale to his court. The bird is eventually found and brought to the palace, where it sings and captivates everyone with its melody. However, the emperor receives a gift of a mechanical bird, encrusted with jewels, that can also sing. Enamored with the artificial bird, the emperor neglects the real nightingale, which eventually leaves. Over time, the mechanical bird breaks down, and the emperor falls gravely ill. In his final moments, the real nightingale returns, singing so beautifully that it restores the emperor's health and teaches him the value of genuine beauty and simplicity over artificiality.
