Harry Wallop attempts to obtain the essentials of life - food, home and health - without it costing a penny. He's also challenged to kit out a community centre for free. Harry sets himself the challenge of cooking a three-course gourmet dinner, getting dental work and a full body MOT for absolutely nothing. A local community centre for young people also sets Harry the task of kitting it out with computers and furniture - that would normally cost thousands of pounds - for free. Full of handy tips on how to grab remarkable cash-free bargains, the show also profiles successful freebie finders in Britain, including Jonathan, who claims not to have paid for meat in thirty years. Inspired by Jonathan's efforts, Harry puts his squeamishness to one side and haggles for free rabbits from a Welsh pest-controller, and obtains key ingredients for his freebie dinner from bins and the local woodland.
