Forced to build an underground fortress for SHADOW, a construction crew rebels in a bid for freedom, but suffers severe casualties. One of the workers, Daizo, surrenders to stop the slaughter, but is labeled a traitor. Mari discovers Daizo's children in the freezing cold, and sacrifices herself to keep them warm.
