Daleo receives a blue ball from an old man who is being chased by someone. This is Cobalt 70, an essential element of the underwater "Land of the Blue Flame". His pursuers are the Dagoni, the oppressed aquatic people of the land, who had intended to ask Nazeau to help them in their civil war in exchange for the sphere, but the old scholar had stolen it from them first. The Dagoni used a tool called the Mirage Pen to make giant centipedes and poisonous spiders appear and attack the Daleos.
