Jack has received a postcard from Annie in Majorca. Ena’s postcard to Minnie hints that she prefers Morecambe, but a Spanish phrase written as a P.S. puzzles her friend. At a loose end, Elsie can’t find anyone to spend the bank holiday with her. With their hire purchase debt of £250, Dickie decides to brave the arcade and fix the machines for Eddie Goulden. Audrey translates the phrase as “Milk Stout, thank you”.
