When writer Erica Falck's parents die in a violent car accident, she is approached by a man who claims to be her half-brother. When he is found murdered a few days later, Erica starts digging through her mother's belongings. She soon discovers that her mother had dark secrets, which someone will do anything to keep them hidden. Erica is sucked further and further into a web of lies and cruel sudden death.
