Before serving as the 43rd governor of Colorado since 2009, his political experience spans from being a Colorado State Board of Education member to a United States representative from Colorado’s 2nd congressional district. He is an entrepreneur at heart, founding ProFlowers in 1998 and TechStars in 2006. As an openly gay man, he advocates for LGBTQ+ and racial equality in Colorado. He has committed to ensuring all Coloradans have the opportunity to pursue their dreams by opening schools for at-risk students and new students and starting nonprofits for war veterans.
