Dr. Paul van der Voort announces his retirement and will choose either Jan vd Woude or Eric Koning to replace him for the time being. Nurse Nelleke is pregnant, which reminds head nurse Reini that it's too late for her to have children. An elderly patient , Mrs Oudenaar, asks the medical staff to let her die peacefully.
