On her last film shoot, famous actress Blanche Dulac (played by Anne Consigny) narrowly escapes an attempt on her life. Detective Laurence is hellbent on discovering who's out to get the star. But the love of his life, Dr. Maillol, has just been killed in a plane crash. Laurence slips into depression and turns to drugs, readily available in the film milieu. He lets his two accomplices, Alice and Marlene, take over the case. Alice masquerades as the still photographer's assistant to investigate incognito. Marlene is hired as the actress' hand double and before long the two are on intimate terms. But a murderer lurks on the set.
