Lotus Esprit (8x3)

: 26, 2020

This time the boys travel to Benfleet in Essex to pick up a real 1970s supercar, a Lotus Esprit S1, a car made famous when it transformed into a submarine in the James Bond movie 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. When the boys arrive to pick it up they discover that rather than being one of the most eye-catching British sports cars ever constructed, they have a really tatty car that hasn't been started for 20 years on their hands. The car was once the pride and joy of Gary, a longstanding London fire fighter who has helped to save lives for many years. According to the team at the Shaftesbury Lane Fire station in London's West End, Gary, at the age of 62, is one of the hardest working firefighters out there. He has even earned the nickname 'Super G'. Most firefighters retire in their 50s but Gary just keeps on going because loves his job. He is a real life national hero.
