Percy tells Maud of his plans to go to Normandy for the fiftieth anniversary of D-Day. Ken invites Denise to be his escort at a tree-planting ceremony at Weatherfield Comprehensive where Alf will officiate. Audrey refuses to get out of the car for the tree-planting as the grass will ruin her shoes. She remains in the car and flirts with Brian Bowes. Charlie Whelan supplies more illegal lager to the Corner Shop but Maureen is unhappy at the arrangement. Des and Tanya make plans to spend some time away together.
