And now 59-year-old Basil Borutski stands convicted of those crimes, the details of which he revealed in a rambling five hour interrogation in which he cast himself as victim. The truth is that Borustki had been well-known to police for years. How did the system that’s supposed to protect women go so disastrously wrong?
