Herik decodes a message in the Book of Life requesting him to go the Shogi Monastery of the South. He is accompanied by Djana and Tara who find that the monastery is in the hands of Bragan. The surviving Shogi’s are being kept prisoner. Djana and her companions free a Shogi named Morgan. What they don't know is that Kwodahn placed Morgan under a spell and that the shogi has become an instrument of the forces of evil. Will Herik overcome the resentment of having been betrayed by his friend Morgan? Will Xcalibur, in Djana's hands, be strong enough to thwart Kwodahn's nefarious scheme to annihilate the Shogi’s?
