The owner and Black Jack are taken aback by the appearance of Tomobiki, a detective who appears at the cafe "Tom." The owner explains to Tomobiki that he used to be in the care of the police, but has now left bad habits behind. However, Tomobiki's reason for coming is to request that Black Jack, an unlicensed doctor, appear at the police station. After this, Tomobiki's gaze turns to the scar from surgery on the owner's right hand.
