Black Jack spots Mitsuo, a boy in a wheelchair, intently reading a book called "The Records of a Disabled Person," in a coffee shop. A few days later, Mitsuo sets off from the square, carrying out a plan to walk from Hiroshima to Osaka to rehabilitate his disabled leg and challenge himself. The walk is broadcast on television, and Mitsuo can be seen on the TV in Black Jack's living room. That evening, Black Jack leaves his house, wanting to travel alone.
