In August 1995 Blur and Oasis were engaged in a head-to-head chart battle that divided music fans and led to a wider argument about British pop music. Britpop Now provides an aural snapshot of the era, with a compilation of live performances, presented by Damon Albarn, and originally broadcast on BBC TWO on 16 August 1995. Billed as "a new generation of British guitar pop bands", the acts on Britpop Now include Blur, Pulp, Supergrass, Elastica and Menswear.
