Esteban brings Clara to their new home in the capital, "the big house on the corner." After their daughter Blanca is born, the family-including Esteban's sister, Férula-travels to Las Tres Marías, where Clara uncovers her husband's dark past and realizes her fate is bound to Pancha García and her descendants.
