Subaru, realizing his own powerlessness without money, finds himself genuinely drawn to Madoka. Meanwhile, Madoka questions why she cares about Subaru, a colleague she doesn’t get along with. As Subaru grows more certain of his feelings for her, he discovers she might have feelings for Narita, whom he begins to see as a rival.
