Lucrecia suggests that José Luis have a drink, but her real intention is to poison him and kill him with mushrooms. As Aunt Carmen tells the boss everything, he plays along with the young woman, until she demands that he drink his glass of wine and gets intoxicated. On the other hand, they find bones on the land where they extract the gold and Buenaventura confesses to Manuel that they are his father's, after he died at the hands of Renato Echeñique. Lucrecia begins to feel very bad and José Luis goes to look for Mercedes so that she can see her daughter. Juan Cristóbal tries to help her with his medical knowledge, but all efforts are in vain and he dies in his mother's arms.
