José Luis hits Herminia hard and promises to end her life in a painful way. Manuel confronts Buenaventura for not having protected María from the boss's abuse. On his return, the foreman confronts his brother-in-law with a harsh truth. Violeta's uncle receives an unexpected visit from Alberto, an old friend who was also involved in the attack on the saltpeter mine. The man asks for shelter, but he flatly refuses. Herminia manages to warn Violeta that she is in danger and she tells María everything. The woman goes in search of Manuel, who organizes an operation to save the woman. The worker arrives at the farm and a shootout ensues, which allows Alberto to rescue Herminia, who was about to burn to death. While Manuel pounces on José Luis and is about to kill him, Leonor begs him not to do it.
